The road from Dubai to Abu Dhabi just got a lot more interesting for art lovers.
Louvre Abu Dhabi has just launched a radio-guided ‘Highway Gallery’ that will showcase the museum’s iconic masterpieces on the E11. Here are the details…
Louvre Abu Dhabi hits the road
Louvre Abu Dhabi has reproduced 10 masterpieces into giant billboards that now sit along 100km of highway between Dubai and the capital. As drivers approach each piece on on the road, they can tune into partnering radio stations and listen to a 30-second story of the artwork. The stations participating include Radio 1 (100.5 FM), Classic FM (91.6 FM) and Emarat FM (95.8 FM).
The audio-visual tour – available in English and Arabic – will give art enthusiasts the chance to learn more about some of the most famous art pieces housed at Louvre Abu Dhabi, including works by Vincent Van Gogh and Leonardo da Vinci.
The Highway Gallery will be running for one month between Seih Shuaib to Rahba City on Sheikh Zayed Road, with pieces on display every 10km.
